History and results of judo at the Summer Paralympics for the period 1992-2024

Abstract

Paralympic sports provide opportunities for people with disabilities to participate and excel in sports competitions. Athletes competing in Paralympic sports are grouped together or classified for competition based on the type and severity of their disability Research Objective To know the history and results of judo at the Summer Paralympic Games for the period from 1992-2024 This study is based on the descriptive analytical approach , focusing on the historical aspect. This design aims to describe and analyze the developments and results of judo in the Paralympic Games during the specified time period (1992-2024). Historical analysis will be used to trace the course of the game across the different tournaments. The most important conclusions are Paralympic judo has witnessed a significant growth in the number of competitions and sporting events since its official inclusion in the Barcelona 1992 tournament with 7 competitions, up to 13 competitions in subsequent editions such as Athens 2004, thanks to the introduction of women's competitions in the game, and the most important recommendations are It is recommended to increase investment in Paralympic judo training and development programs, especially in countries with limited means, to enhance their participation and raise the level of their performance.
