The Effect of Plyometric Training on Developing Certain Motor Skills and Performance Level in Volleyball

The research aimed to identify the effect of using plyometric exercises on developing certain motor abilities (neuromuscular coordination, flexibility, transitional speed, explosive power) and the performance level in volleyball among players at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University. The researchers employed an experimental method with a single experimental group design. The research sample consisted of 14 students who are volleyball players at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University for the academic year 2024/2025. The training program was applied using plyometric exercises over a period of 8 weeks, with two training sessions per week, totaling 16 training units. The results indicated a positive effect of using plyometric exercises on developing some motor abilities and improving performance level in volleyball. The researchers recommend the importance of using plyometric exercises to develop certain motor abilities and enhance performance achievement in volleyball activities.
