Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effect of using the video self-review method on improving motor flexibility among handball players. It also measured the effectiveness of this method in learning basic skills (such as passing and shooting) compared to the traditional method. The results of the experimental group (which used the self-review method) were compared with those of the control group (which followed traditional training). Recommendations were provided for employing visual self-learning techniques to enhance sports training. The researcher adopted the experimental method due to its suitability for the nature of the study, which seeks to measure the impact of an independent variable (video self-review method) on dependent variables (motor flexibility and learning basic handball skills). A two-group design (experimental and control) was used with pre- and post-tests. It is recommended to adopt the video self-review method within official training programs in handball, especially for younger age groups. Coaches should be trained to use filming techniques and simplified motion analysis to present performance videos to players. The VSM (Video Self-Modeling) approach should be integrated with other training methods such as live modeling or mirrored feedback to enhance effectiveness. Similar studies should be conducted on different samples (male/female, other age groups, different sports). Additionally, accompanying psychological measurements (such as self-efficacy or self-confidence) should be included to broaden the understanding of the video's impact on other aspects of athletic performance.
