The ethics policy of the DAMU Journal of Sports Sciences is based on the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and is consistent with the Code of Conduct issued by the Editorial Board of the DAMU Journal of Sports Sciences. Readers, authors, reviewers and editors must follow these ethical policies when dealing with the DAMU Journal of Sports Sciences. The ethical policy of the journal is responsible for determining which research papers or sample research articles submitted to the journal can be published in the journal. Duties and responsibilities of publishers
1- DAMU Sports Science Journal is committed to ensuring that the decisions taken by the editorial board regarding scientific research are final.
2- DAMU Sports Science Journal promises to ensure that the decision to submit research will only be made based on professional judgment and will not be influenced by any commercial interests.
3- DAMU Sports Science Journal is committed to maintaining the integrity of academic and research records.
4- DAMU Sports Science Journal of Ethics is monitored by the editor-in-chief, assistant editors, members of the editorial board, reviewers, authors, and readers.
5- DAMU Sports Science Journal always checks for problems of plagiarism and fraudulent statements contained within the submitted research.
6- DAMU Sports Science Journal is always ready to publish corrections, clarifications, and retractions that include its publications when needed.
Duties and responsibilities of editors
1- The journal editors must have full authority to reject/accept the research.
2- Journal editors must maintain the confidentiality of the research submitted under review until it is published.
3- The editor-in-chief must make the decision regarding the submitted research, whether it will be published or rejected, with the members of the editorial board and residents.
4- Journal editors must maintain the confidentiality of the reviewers.
5- Journal editors must disclose any conflict of interest and try to avoid it.
6- Journal editors must maintain academic integrity and strive to meet the needs of readers and authors.
7-Journal editors must be prepared to investigate issues of plagiarism and fraudulent statements and be prepared to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when needed.
8-Journal editors must have a maximum of intellectual content only.
9-Journal editors must not disclose any information about the submitted manuscript to anyone other than the responsible author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisors, and the publisher, as appropriate.
10- Do not use unpublished materials disclosed in the research submitted by the editor or members of the editorial board for their own research purposes without express written consent from the author.
Duties and responsibilities of residents
1- The journal’s evaluators must assist the editorial board members in making the decision to publish the submitted research.
2- Evaluators must maintain the confidentiality of the research that was sent to them for the purpose of evaluation.
3- Evaluators must provide comments in a timely manner to help the members of the editorial board make a decision regarding the submitted research that will be published or not published.
4- Evaluators must treat research received for review as confidential, and must not use the information obtained through reviewing this research to achieve personal advantage.
5- Evaluators’ comments for each research must be technical, professional, and objective.
6- Evaluators should not review research in which they find a conflict of interest with any of the authors, companies, or institutions.
7- Evaluators must disclose any conflict of interest and try to avoid it.
Duties and responsibilities of authors
1-The research must be submitted in Arabic or English and must be written according to proper grammar and appropriate terminology.
2- The research must be submitted on the basis that it has not been published anywhere else, and is not currently under study by another journal or any other publisher.
3- The responsible researcher is responsible for ensuring approval for publication of the research by all other authors.
4- In order to maintain the evaluation system, authors are committed to participating in the process of reviewing evaluators to evaluate research sent by others.
5- It is also the responsibility of the authors to ensure that research issued by a specific institution is submitted with the necessary approval of the institution.
6- One of the conditions for submitting the research is that the authors present the research in an easy-to-read form.
7- Authors are asked to clearly identify who provided financial support for the conduct of the research and/or preparation of the research and to briefly describe the role of the institution/sponsor in any part of the work if this exists.
8- The responsible author must sign a copy of the approval of all authors in the case of research by more than one researcher, before accepting the research for publication, in order to be legally responsible towards the journal’s ethics and privacy policy.
9- Under an open access license, authors retain copyright ownership of their content, and anyone is allowed to download, reuse, reprint, modify, distribute and/or copy the content as long as the authors and original source are properly cited.
10- All authors agree to allow the responsible author to work as a correspondent with the editorial office, to review the research and proof editing process.
11- When the author(s) discover a major error or inaccuracy in his published work, it is the author’s duty to immediately notify the editor-in-chief of the journal or the publisher to withdraw or correct the research.
12- All authors should be aware that research submitted under review or published in the DAMU Journal of Sports Sciences is subject to examination using anti-plagiarism software. Plagiarism is a serious violation of publishing ethics.
13- All authors must ensure that all authors have read the final submission checklist before submitting it to the DAMU Journal of Sports Science.
