This research aimed to design a set of rehabilitative exercises for Ashur University female athletes suffering from lower back pain and to determine the extent to which these exercises improved flexibility and muscular strength while reducing pain intensity. The study included female athletes from basketball, volleyball, and futsal teams.
The researcher employed an experimental method, dividing the sample of 20 athletes into two equal groups: an experimental group that performed the rehabilitative exercises and a control group that did not. Post-tests were conducted for both groups following the completion of the program.
The experimental group demonstrated greater improvements than the control group in flexibility and the explosive strength of back and abdominal muscles, alongside a reduction in lower back pain intensity. These results indicate that the rehabilitative exercises had a positive impact on improving specific physical fitness components and alleviating pain.
