The Effect of Specific Strength Training and Muscle Electrical Activity on Developing Some Physical and Functional Abilities in the Vaulting Skill

Abstract

The importance of this research lies in understanding the effect of muscle electrical activity on developing certain physical abilities in gymnastics. The research problem stems from the lack of a clear understanding of how muscle electrical activity affects physical abilities. Therefore, the aim of this research is to identify the impact of muscle electrical activity on specific physical abilities in gymnastics.

The researchers used the experimental method as it was the most suitable approach for the nature of the research problem. The target population was selected purposively, consisting of third-year students. Students in classroom (1-3) were randomly chosen to represent the research sample, totaling (30) students. These students were divided into two groups: an experimental group and a control group. The researchers selected a skill from the apparatus gymnastics curriculum for boys (the vaulting jump on the vaulting horse). The primary muscle involved in this skill was the gluteus maximus. After discussing the results, the researchers concluded the following:

-1Muscle strength increases gradually as the learner progresses through the number of training sessions.

-2  Force production varies depending on the type of skill at each stage.
