Abstract

The researchers observed a clear absence of genuine twinning frameworks between colleges and sports clubs. Therefore, this research aimed to identify the reality and levels of mechanisms for sustainable cooperation between colleges of physical education and sports sciences and sports clubs, and the procedures for developing athletic talent adopted by these colleges and clubs. In addition to identifying the role of sustainable cooperation between faculties of physical education and sports sciences and sports clubs in investing in and nurturing athletic talent within these academic and sports institutions, the descriptive approach, employing both survey and correlational methods, was adopted to achieve these objectives, as it was deemed suitable for the nature of the research. The research population consisted of faculty members in the faculties of physical education and sports sciences at Iraqi public universities, totaling (2263) instructors. The main research sample comprised (329) instructors, representing (15%) of the total population. Data collection was based on two main instruments: the Sustainable Cooperation Scale and the Athletic Talent Investment Scale. The results yielded several conclusions, most notably:

- The average score obtained on the Sustainable Cooperation Scale between faculties of physical education and sports sciences and sports clubs reflects the absence of permanent and organized partnership mechanisms between them

- The average score on the Athletic Talent Investment Scale by faculties and sports clubs indicates a weakness in the application of scientific principles and standardized criteria for discovering these talents within the sports environment.
