Abstract

- Measuring the impact of educational units according to Gagné’s model in learning the skill of extinguishing (firefighting).

- Identifying the superiority of Gagné’s model over the traditional method used in schools for learning the skill of extinguishing, for both the control and experimental research groups.

To achieve reliable results, the researcher hypothesized

- There are statistically significant differences between the pre-test and post-test results in learning the skill of extinguishing, favoring the post-test.

- There are statistically significant differences between the control and experimental research groups in learning the skill of extinguishing, favoring the experimental group.

The researcher employed the experimental method due to its suitability for the research problem. The sample consisted of 36 fourth-grade preparatory students divided into two classes: 18 students in the experimental group and 18 in the control group. The main experiment was conducted with two units per week, totaling 16 educational units. After completing the experiment, the results were analyzed using SPSS software.

Based on the findings, the researcher concluded:

- Gagné’s model had a positive effect on learning the skill of extinguishing among fourth-grade preparatory students at Al-Zaytoun Private School, as evidenced by comparisons between the control and experimental groups in pre-tests and post-tests.

- The model facilitated interaction between students and the teacher and increased student engagement.

Recommendations:

- Adoption of Gagné’s model in physical education and sports science lessons for fourth-grade preparatory students.
