The Impact of an Instructional Strategy Based on a Monitoring and Follow-up System (Skill Center) on Learning and Achieving Shot Put Effectiveness Among Students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the impact of an instructional strategy based on a monitoring and follow-up system (Skill Center) on learning the skill performance and numerical achievement in the shot put. The study applied the experimental method to a sample of (46) third-year students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Al-Mustansiriyah University. They were randomly divided into two groups: an experimental group (studied using the proposed strategy) and a control group (studied using the conventional method). The study relied on measurement tools that included a battery of pre- and post-assessment tests to evaluate the sub-phases of the skill and the distance achieved.The results showed statistically significant differences between the two groups in the post-test in favor of the experimental group, across all axes of skill performance and in distance measurement (achievement). It was concluded that the instructional strategy based on the monitoring and follow-up system was effective in improving the quality of motor learning and achievement, by focusing on the skill center and providing continuous and organized feedback. In light of these results, the study recommended generalizing the use of this educational model.
