Abstract

This research aims to identify and clarify the administrative problems facing the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology in managing football matches in the Iraqi Professional League. It also aims to clarify the results of the critical analysis and conclusions related to the analysis of administrative problems and the impact of the use of VAR technology on the management of football matches. The research also aims to identify the administrative problems facing VAR referees using VAR technology. This research was conducted through a pilot study consisting of (30) individuals selected from the research community and not participating in the main study. The researchers used a descriptive approach with an analytical approach. The researchers randomly selected the research sample from those working in and interested in the field of football at the Iraqi Football Association. The sample size was (2,440) individuals, while the primary sample size was (2,140) individuals, and the pilot sample size was (30) individuals. The most important results of the research were the presence of specific and clear objectives for the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology in football. There is also coordination between the assistant referee for the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology and the match referee in making decisions in football matches, as well as criteria for selecting the assistant referee for the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
