Determining Standardized Normative Levels of Neuromuscular Asymmetry Using Motor Balance and Reaction Speed Indicators According to the ASI Model among Middle School Female Students

Standardized normative levels of neuromuscular asymmetry were determined among middle school female students using motor balance and reaction speed indicators between the dominant and non-dominant limbs according to the Asymmetry Index (ASI) model. The importance of the study stems from the sensitivity of this age stage and the neurological and physical changes that affect motor performance. The researcher adopted the descriptive approach on a sample of (148) female students from middle schools in Baghdad. Static balance and reaction speed tests were used, in addition to the Asymmetry Index (ASI), to measure differences between the two sides of the body. The study aimed to provide accurate scientific norms that contribute to early detection of neuromuscular asymmetry cases. The results also help guide educational and training programs and reduce the likelihood of motor injuries among female students. The findings revealed a clear variation in the levels of neuromuscular asymmetry between the dominant and non-dominant limbs in both reaction speed and motor balance. The study recommended adopting the normative levels established by the research.
