Abstract

This study aimed to identify the effect of a training method based on intensity distribution and concentration techniques on developing maximum lower limb strength, and to determine which of the two techniques is more effective in developing maximum lower limb strength, and which technique is more effective in developing shooting accuracy and throwing the ball to the furthest possible confined distance. The importance of the research lies in comparing two training methods: the first relies on concentrating the intensity applied to the leg muscles, and the second relies on distributing the intensity in both the thigh and leg muscles, in an attempt to determine which of the two methods contributes more to developing maximum arm strength. The researcher used the experimental method due to its suitability to the nature of the research problem. The research population was selected purposively, consisting of the Kirkuk University basketball team. Twelve players were chosen to represent the entire research population (100%), with ages ranging from 19 to 22 years. The results showed that both the distributed and concentrated intensity training methods effectively develop maximum lower limb strength. The distributed intensity training method proved superior in this regard. The researcher recommends adopting both distributed and concentrated intensity training methods for developing maximum lower limb strength, and specifically recommending the distributed intensity method for improving shooting accuracy and maximum distance. Developing maximum strength in basketball players is crucial due to its direct impact on shooting range and accuracy.
