Physical Education Teaching Strategies for Adapting Curricula to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals

Abstract

This study examines the impact of physical education teaching strategies on adapting curricula to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, as physical education is considered an essential element in building an individual's character and developing his social and physical skills. The study aims to explore how to adapt physical education curricula to enhance health and environmental awareness among students by analyzing different teaching strategies and evaluating their effectiveness. Current curricula face major challenges represented by the lack of integration of environmental and health concepts, which negatively affects students' awareness. The study relied on the experimental research approach, where questionnaires and physical performance tests were used to assess students' fitness levels and skills. The results showed a statistically significant positive relationship between physical education teaching strategies and the Sustainable Development Goals, with a noticeable improvement in students' physical performance after applying the modified curricula, especially in the flexibility test. The study recommends developing curricula to include sustainable development concepts, providing training courses for teachers, strengthening partnerships with local institutions, and increasing awareness of sustainable development concepts among students and parents.
