Universities have recently witnessed a noticeable expansion in their sports activities, making sports units an essential component of the administrative and academic structure. In light of ongoing developments in higher education and the increasing emphasis on quality assurance and academic accreditation, sports activity units are now required to adopt modern evaluation methods that align with quality standards. Effective performance measurement depends on the availability of clear benchmark indicators, reliable data-collection tools, and analytical procedures that support accurate decision-making in accordance with contemporary quality requirements. However, many universities continue to rely on traditional evaluation methods that fail to provide accurate indicators for performance improvement based on quality metrics. Therefore, there is a need for professional evaluation systems capable of diagnosing current conditions, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and supporting continuous development. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of these systems within university sports environments by examining their actual implementation and gathering the perspectives of practitioners. The findings indicate that the criteria of the professional evaluation system are clear and well understood by staff in sports units and departments, suggesting a solid theoretical foundation. The study recommends enhancing the competencies of system implementers through continuous training programs focused on evaluation methods, performance measurement techniques, and minimizing bias.
