The study aimed to: identify the effect of the Coscroft Model on learning the positions of covering in defense and counterattacking for soccer players, and to identify the superiority of the effect between the Coscroft Model and the mechanism used in learning the positions of covering in defense and counterattacking for soccer players in the post-tests.
The researchers used the experimental method by designing two equivalent experimental and control groups with pre- and post-tests, to suit the objectives and format of the study. The research community was defined as players from specialized schools in Karbala under the age of 17, numbering (50) players, and the research sample was (30) players. They used the statistical package (SPSS) to process the data.
In light of the results reached by the researchers in this study, and the subsequent interpretations, the following conclusions were reached: The Coscroft model and the mechanism followed by the coach had a positive impact on the superiority and level of the experimental group players in learning the defensive coverage positions and intercepting the ball from the opponent. The experimental group had a greater advantage over the control group as a result of the impact of the Coscroft model on learning the defensive coverage positions and intercepting the ball from the opponent.
