The significance of this research lies in its alignment with modern educational trends that call for innovation in teaching strategies. The current study was conducted to select a problem-solving strategy from among the numerous teaching strategies, as the researcher believes it has a positive impact on accelerating the pace of learning and acquiring some fundamental football skills among students, including passing accuracy and shooting accuracy, while optimizing the time and effort expended. The research aimed to identify the impact of the problem-solving strategy on learning passing accuracy and shooting accuracy in football among students. The research sample was selected from second-year students at the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, University of Dhi Qar, for the academic year 2025-2026. The researcher employed experimental design with two groups: experimental and control.
The key findings revealed the superiority of the experimental group, which implemented the educational curriculum using the problem-solving strategy, over the control group, which followed the teacher's traditional method, in learning both passing and shooting skills in football among the students. The researcher recommended conducting similar studies that investigate the problem-solving strategy for age groups not covered by the current study, for both male and female students.
