This study aimed to identify the effect of the Herbartian method on learning some basic football skills among first-year students in the Colleges of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Kufa and the Islamic University. The researcher used the experimental approach, designing two groups: a control and an experimental group. An educational program was developed according to the Herbartian method, and its impact on skills (passing, dribbling, and scoring) was measured. Pre- and post-tests were conducted, and the results showed that the experimental group outperformed the control group, confirming the effectiveness of the Herbartian method in enhancing motor skill learning. The researcher recommended adopting this method in teaching and expanding its application to other sports and age groups.
