Abstract

Developing these skills for players requires them to adhere to training units and all matters related to training. It also requires the coach to make great efforts and choose modern exercises similar to the actual performance of the match and appropriate for the targeted age group, especially the junior category, whose ages range from 14 to 16 years. It represents the strong foundation that is relied upon in building an advanced level in basketball. The research aims to prepare semi-competitive exercises in developing the skills of offensive reservation and deception from standing in basketball for players aged 14-16 years. The researcher selected the research sample randomly by lottery with a number of (14) players and a percentage of (88%).

The researcher concluded that there is a development in offensive skills (offensive reservation and deception from standing) in basketball for young players (the experimental group). The development of some physical and motor abilities had a positive impact on the development of some offensive basketball skills for young players.
